The most common JIS thread on these is the 5mm.
Look for a tap 5mm x 0.9pitch.
Be careful as many sell them as 5mm x 0.8 pitch, but this is modern ISO metric thread.

It looks like you are talking a M5 tap for the dynamo cover, but the pitch doesn't appear to be what I would consider the "standard" pitch for that size.

Quick and dirty home-made taps:
File two flats 180° apart on the threads of a bolt or screw.
Carefully remove any burrs without rounding any corners on the flattened threads.
Heat bolt/screw red hot and drop into oil/water. Bolt/screw is now very hard.
You now have a nice home-made tap!
This technique can also be used to make chisels, punches and other tools where added hardness is desired.
