What bike do I have?

Post by Eljeef » Fri Jun 26, 2009 9:31 am

Hi folks. Just picked up a Honda Dream but I don't know exactly what I have acquired. Actually, somewhere on this forum I read about the guy in eastern Canada with the black Dream with the "winkers". My bike looks exactly like that one. The engine v.i.n. is c77e-101002 and the frame v.i.n. is c78-1000088. Key is na460. Thanks for having this forum. I know you guys (any ladies?) will be invaluable to me. I am going to clean this bike up. Not sure how far I will go with restoration but definitely media blasting and paint. Maybe re-chroming where necessary. Definitely upgrade the ignition system. I will take any and all input and advice. Thanks, Jeff. (aka new guy). Image, Image, Image, Image.

First guess is 1965 and looks pretty good. The information you seek will be on this forum somewhere, be patient and search around. There are people on this forum that have forgotten more than most mechanics know. I just wish I was one of them, Good Luck

Eljeef are you sure those numbers are correct ? I think you may have missed one in the engine if the frame is correct.

hey Jeff, nice looking machine! A proper C (CA really, with that handlebar) with turn signals / winkers. Takes me back to my CA95! Seems you have a C or CA78 with an earlier C77 motor transplant.

Get yourself a nice pair of "Honda Dream 300" tank emblems from Ray Byrne: http://www.honda305.com/forums/viewtopi ... c&start=10

G'luck; keep posting!

Steve

EDIT: probably a Canadian market model, with the winkies.

Joe, I'd be inclined to ease up on Ray a bit on the replacement offensive; his emblems are considerably cheaper than any others that are around, and I suspect that his markup is pretty marginal. It strikes me that he supplies them to forum-members more as a brotherly service than for loadsaprofit.
