I have never tried what you are suggesting but I have worked with torches and solder and many different metals. <br /><br />Watch your heat! If you get this cable to hot it will become brittle and after flexing a few times snap. Their may be a way to temper this metal with the speed by which it cools but I’m not sure. <br /> Also there is a good possibility that the connection you make will not be as good as the factory’s I would try to make it in a place where I could keep an eye on it. I don’t think hiding it in the right case is such a wise idea.<br /> Keep in mind if this cable lets loose at a busy intersection as you’re sitting at the light you may find yourself in front of a big truck. Not good for you or your bike.<br /><br /><br />Rob <br />
