CB77 Speedometer Cable
CB77 Speedometer Cable
On my '63 CB77, the speedometer cable screws into a geared device at the front wheel hub (labeled simply as "BOX" in the parts diagram). The box has a screw on it, and if you remove the screw one can see the worm drive mechanism or what have you that eventually turns the speedo cable. Does anyone know the purpose of this screw? Is it simply a cap for a hole one would use for inserting lubricant into the box similar to the purpose of zerk grease fittings elsewhere on the bike?
