Thanks for the reply, LM. <br /><br />I think that your assessment is correct. It makes a lot more sense that someone modified the frame to an old-style seat mount (then back again!) rather than the frame having some kind of bizarre frame # anomoly. I wonder if the extra bracket was for coils. Maybe so the tank wouldn't have to be removed for access?<br /><br />The mods seem a bit cruder than factory stuff would, but they're not bad. I'm going to clean off the rust and old paint so I can see the welds and fabrication more clearly.<br /><br />I remember doing some creative changes to my '55 chevy's frame back in the day that might have later gotten someone wondering just what I was thinking....<br /><br />Thanks again.<br />Phil Y
