Newer model vs older

I have a 1966 ca77 and hear the reference to newer and older model dreams. What is considered a newer or older model. Thanks

I can't remember the year change, I think it was 1964.

The major visual difference to know right away is that the old style Dreams had rear shock aluminum pieces that curved with the fender, the newer style ones have straight square rear shock pieces on the fender. I'll see if I can find the link to the thread.
