G'day Guys
I've got the front Honda badge off and because of the flaking red background paint, decided I'd like to give it an overhaul.
Ideally I'd like to inverse the colours and make the "outer" surface and "HONDA" letters red or gold and have the recessed inner background as black - but boy is this proving very hard to do!! I've had a couple of goes in priming and painting the whole thing red, but the inner background is just too hard to do black. I've tried masking with tape - that is just too fine and difficult.
Last attempt after painting it all red, I masked the "outer" face and then painted the inner background and "HONDA" letters black - the idea was to then hand paint the "HONDA" letters red. Again that was just too fiddly with the red paint getting everywhere.
So I'm back to scratch. Any ideas or suggestions (apart from give up!)? How would the pros do this? Come to think of it – who are the pros – who does this kind of thing for a living?

You could flood(thin the paint and just fill the low spots) but it takes a few applications-
Or you could just spray paint the whole part, let it dry for a week and then using a slightly dampened (with clean thinner)Qtip, lightly rub raised areas until clean...takes alot of qtips and elbow grease but definitly worth the effort.....
