Post by Larry G » Wed Mar 14, 2012 5:42 pm

I just bought aq scrambler the guy said he thinks its a 1967 (no title), I tried to look up the vin but it asks for 17 digits? not sure how to find out the year, any help would be great.
My VIN is CL77 100476D.

Thanks, Larry

take off the tank and look for the wiring harness tag, it will be a rectangular white tag with black letters stating the year that the bike was made. or the year the wiring harness was made but they rarely went bad and needed to be replaced.

Larry,

Sounds like a '65. Does it have single leading shoe brakes, and steel fork lowers?

Larry

Single Leading Shoe (SLS) brakes have only one operating arm connected to the cable and are smaller than Dual Leading Show (DLS) brakes which have two arms and a linkage.
