Vin information Newbie

Hello gang
not sure what year 305 Scrambler I have The vin is CL77-1001242
Do not know where the Engine serial number is located
Can anyone let me know where I can research the build date by Vin number also is there a Parts vendor who provides a catalogue?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

It's a early 1965. Number 1242 built.
Engine number is on top of left side clutch cover.
Start with a parts cataloge off Ebay.
