suppression wire vs copper core

Post by eyhonda » Thu Jul 29, 2010 1:02 pm

I accidentally ordered suppression wire not copper core. Will I get reduced spark performance? The resistance measures about 10-11kohms versus about 5k for copper core assuming a 5k cap and zero for the wire. I already cut it so it is not returnable.

Doubt if it will matter... But let us know!

If it does - Find a Parts Unlimited dealer in your area and they should have part# 01-114-1 wire which is copper core just like the original for less than $1/ft.

Well, I don't think it matters that much. It fires a nice fat spark now. No reason to compare wires for comparison sake. There won't be a way to quantify the performance difference anyway. At least I won't get any RF interfence on my radio! Ha!
