Edward,
I shared an apartment with a guy from the Phillipines when I was working in Venezuela. His parents has to leave the country for political reasons back in the 60's.
As a follow up on this for all who have responded, I have not touched the bike since returning from the giro. I finally got around to digging back into the problem and Jensen reminded me I'd left this thread hanging.
Please see my thread on Plugs Fouling under the Carburetion section. As it turned out, my problem was a leaking float and more than likely slightly high fuel level (float height) in both carbs.
The details (painfully long post) are in the above mentioned thread. Bottom line is I fixed the float, reset the float height per suggestions in that thread and confirmed all the jets and needle setting per another thread started by another member and answered by Mr. Mouse. So far, bike runs great. I had my dates mixed up and giro is not this weekend but next. So I'll probably do a few more torture tests this week and then the giro will be the proof of the fixes.
Thanks for the inputs and help.
regards,
Rob
Interesting CL77 igntion problemThe giro was this weekend and I had a ball. Lots of CL, CA and CB77's in the event, not to mention a lot of smaller Hondas.
But, my reason for posting was to report on how the bike performed with respect to my problem during the spring giro and last fall's giro. I have two threads going on this topic because part if it is a plug fouling issue, or at least an observed plug fouling issue. So, since my plug fouling thread is the most current and has inputs from my more recent efforts, I'll post my experience and suspicions from how the bike performed at the giro in that thread under Carburetion. Here's the link to that thread. http://www.honda305.com/forums/plugs-fo ... 32283.html I did not want those looking for help from this thread to miss the continued input on the issue. regards, Rob
