CL77 Coil Choices

Post by lifewithoutparole » Sun Jul 28, 2013 7:27 pm

Hi all, My CL77 had been dropping the right cylinder when starting then it would seem to be ok after running a little. Well now it runs on one cylinder and if it picks up the right side it cuts out as I give it some throttle. I checked all the connections and got a new plug cap and plug, then I swapped the plug leads and the problem changed sides so the right coil appears to be toast. I have seen several threads on Dream coils but mine has 2 separate coils and I am appealing to the members here for the best solution. A search on the web produced zero results for NOS coils...So, What do you guys use and who do you get them from? Thanks, Tim in Florida.

Hi Tim,

Ohio Cycle has a lot of stuff for 305's. I think they have coils. Check it out:

I just installed a set of coils from Dynatek, #DC10-1. Easy install, work great.

Coils for the CB350 are exactly the same, I use them as well, the only difference is the bracket.

With a bit of creativity you can install them just fine.

I've got a spare coil for a cl77, looks fine to me. Pm me if interested. I'd only ask for a few bucks and shipping cost.
