probe ignition control module location?

Post by jleewebb » Sat Apr 12, 2014 2:10 pm

Finally bearing down on getting my new Probe electronic ignition installed, hopefully next week. It's somewhat different than the one featured on this site, no unused wires, incorporates a static timing indicator to get close before final setting with timing light. Reluctant wrench that I am, I think I can handle it.

I've seen two suggested locations for the control module, on the back of the horn and front of the toolbox. Would anyone care to weigh in on pros and cons of these locations, or another one altogether, to help me make up my mind?

Any other tips or things I should know/watch out for?

Thanks, Lee

put mine under the seat . did have to drill 1 small hole in backbone to run a wire thru . have been thinking about putting it where my air filter is , after replaceing with a filter that would clamp on carb without the extension tube .https://www.flickr.com/photos/112453054 ... 551631956/. my 305 dream
