pod air filters

Post by abert51 » Wed Jun 11, 2014 2:01 pm

all that popping and throttle hesitation may have been due to somethin right under my nose. After troubleshooing, fuel, ignition, wiring, coils, carbs add-infinitim, I finally asked myself, "what kind of airflow into the carbs by not using orig, paper filter media? Pod filters may look pretty but are about as much use a window screens. They let in all kinds of air and lean-out the fuel/air ratio so the bike runs lousey especially in responding to throttlel up. I wrapped up the pods in cloth as an experiment and got amazingly better results. No road test till I replace blown clutch. 1965 CL77 5 fiber disks or 6???? Thanks everyone.
