How to time engine after cylinder head has been off.

I read this post and this seems odd to me.

I have a few Dreams so this could be different, but I too was confused by the language in the books and in this post. It seems that on the Dream, when the Stator pointer, points to the T mark on the rotor, The Cam sprocket * dot is at the top with the sprocket housing flat with the top of the engine and the points cam line points at twelve o-clock; this means that the Right side cylinder is not at TDC compression. It is TDC with valve overlap. At this point in time the left cylinder is at TDC compression. This can be felt with your thumb over the spark plug hole as you bring it up to verify.

So I think the language being used here is confusing. If you read Bill Silver's book carefully this is what he is saying.

Am I correct here?

180 vs 360 degree motors.

Ok thats what I figured . . . in some manuals they don't seem to make this very clear for the Dream owners.

It took me a while to wrap my head around this.

The CB/CL72/77 180 degree cams and the C/CA72/77 360 degree cams are set in this manner.
Install the points cam in the cam assy. with the line in the end at 12:00 and the index marks on the sprocket assy. marks at 12:00 which will have the heavy plate flush with the top of the head.
180 degree engine.
To set the valves ya rotate the rotor a full turn and have the rotor at at "T" at the marker.
Adjust the right side valves to .004.
Rotate the rotor 180 degrees (half turn) (bring "LT") to the marker and set the left side valves.
The C/CA72/77 (360 degree crank) valves are set in the same manner by rotating the rotor a full turn and have the "T" at the marker and set the right side valves to .004.
Rotate the rotor a "full turn" and set the left side valves. ................lm
