coils

my cl seems to be breakng down/misfiring when throttle is opened wide as in calling for more power for climbing hills. Float levels set correctly at 22mm for 26 mm carbs, fuel system clean clean, timing set dynamically with timing light and good. Could be bad or old coils? What are the specs (ohms) for orig coils and what do I replace them with. Ebay shows lots of junky stuff.

Dynatek Coils

Post by lifewithoutparole » Mon Jun 02, 2014 5:20 pm

Abert51, I replaced my coils last year. I had one side that was DOA and the Dynateks work great. I also got the graphite suppression wires/caps, though I forget if they were the 7MM or 8MM (you would just measure yours). The mounting required modifying things a bit but I got the idea from a CB77 owner here on the forum who pointed me towards the Dynateks. My Cl77 has a big blue spark now and starts great. I have NO stock in the company but JLMS here in Florida sells the kits. JLMSvc@aol.com
The owner is Jenny. I highly recommend these and I see that you didn't get many responses except for Loudmouse who is the guru of this site. Good luck, Tim

Just wondering what coil did you go with? OR what did you do to "fix" your problem?
