Plug Wires

Post by Raceman » Fri Aug 08, 2014 3:34 pm

I recently rebuilt the engine on my CL77 and am chasing several gremlins that still live in the bike. The caps and plug wires need to be replaced. Caps, no problem. My question is whether the plug wires are permanently attached to the coils or are they replaceable?

Plug wires

I believe the CL and CB coils are identical. The HT wires to the plugs from the coils are detachable. Unscrew the alloy cap holding the HT wire to the coil and remove it with the cone shaped washer and rubber seal inside. The HT wires can then be unscrewed from the coil terminal ( there is a screw extension on the coil HT terminal which screws into the central conductor of the HT wire ).
