No key.

I just bought my 69 dream, and it doesn't have a key. I haven't found an ignition with a key yet. Can anyone help?

Take a VERY close look at the face of the ignition switch. There will be a letter and a 4 digit number there, something like H3843. Take that number and go to ebay. Search on "honda key" and the number. You should find lots of them. Expect to pay about $15 for one

I took the ignition switch (with no key) to my local Keymasters, it had no # indent on it like a normal door handle or car ignition does.

He was able to replicate one for the lock in less than an hour and charged me $20.

It's worth a try!

That's a better way to do it. I have a number of keys with the 'right' number that do not fit my locks. Honda re-used number sequences on different style keys.

Just out of interest, what are the engine and chassis numbers?

No Dreams were manufactured in '69 but may have been sold then. Your bike looks earlier to me.

1969?

You are the second person to tell me there isn't a 69. Online history about Dreams list a 69 was sold. Who is right? I ordered keys from ebay. I can't get the number now because it is at the shop. Here is where the history is:

Cyclechaos is wrong. If you stick around here long enough, you will know G-Man is correct.

No disrespect meant. I really am more interested in the history. Being a collector I like knowing about things I own. All I need is to piss off the forum guru! Lol...
