CB77 ignition advance

Post by Nonmilagno » Sun Mar 15, 2020 7:12 pm

First post here, great site.

Installed new ignition advance springs on my CB77 (CB77E 10441xx). I think they may be the wrong ones. Can anyone give dimensions of CB vs. CA springs?

Thanks.

There are 2 sizes of springs.
The longer ones are for the DREAM engines. .....................lm

Thanks for the reply. The springs I have are a little under 1” (.970” to .990”) Are these CA springs or CB?

Correct spring is .970”ish but the CB/CL wire diameter is.040” vs. CA is .031.
If your spring are loose? Then the problem is the advancer stops are collapsed. I rebuilt these on every rebuild by machining large 10mm bushing that slide over the stock 8mm stops. This will allow much better throttle response by having 8-12 degrees of initial advance at idle and around 40- 42 on total advance above 3000 rpm.

If you need help with modification let me know.
