CB77 throttle cable routing question.

Post by johnnyroastbeef » Mon Aug 15, 2011 6:45 am

My '68 Cb77 Super hawk isnt quite back on the road yet after sitting for 25 years and I have an issue with the throttle cables. when i turn the handlebars hard to the right it causes the motor to rev up. I'm jsut not sure the throttle cables are routed corectly. It seems the hard turn ot the right pulls on one or both of the cables. If someone has a picture of how the cables are supposed to be run, (from the carbs especially,) i'd sure apprecaite it. my cables currently run over the coil wires and maybe they're supposed to run underneath them and that's causing my issue? any help is appreciated. Thanks in adance.

jeeze mine looks totally different. your bike looks super clean btw! i have the bars that are a litle taller too. (they might be called 1/2 rise bars?? not sure about that term.) your bike must be odler than '68 i'm guessing. maybe tkaing a picure of what the throttle cables look like could help.
