stuck throttle slides

Post by jleewebb » Fri May 08, 2009 7:35 pm

I ended up taking my carbs off to where they were just hanging by the cables, made it easier to squirt carb cleaner down into tops and also into air intake sides of carbs. At least daily for 10 days or two weeks as I recall. I resisted the temptation to stick a screwdriver into intakes and pry slides up for fear of dinging the bottoms of slides. It might help to turn throttle screws all the way out (or remove them to be sure) and tap gently with screwdriver on tops of slides from time to time. Maybe some expert here knows a faster way, but patience worked for me.

OEM battery would be a YUASA 12N9-3A.

Good luck, please keep us posted. --Lee
