Just for quick reference for others, 7750 pounds equals about $12090
I don't think he planned on the competition from Neston though. That bike is only going for $5600. That's actually on par for a 100 point restoration even in the states. Assuming the amount he spent is really embarrassing.

The Neston ad has been in the classifieds for the past three monthly issues, at least, so there's a market-price pointer! I think I should be an embarrassed one, too; I've spent circa €10k (including purchase and my delivery adventure). Not for sale, though.
