New to me CB77

Post by cleg » Sat Aug 13, 2011 7:24 pm

I just made a 300 mile round trip for this 1966 Superhawk. The clutch is slipping and I will attempt an adjustment. There are some parts missing, left side cover, lh mirror, linkage for the shiftpeg (has a regular one on there). Also the exhausts are broken at the mufflers ( non originals ) I will need tires among other things also. I plan to address the exhaust system, go through carbs, tune up and then go for a nice resto. i'm sure we'll be talking soon.

I will get some more pics. I removed the seat and gas tank today as I wanted to reattach a ground wire that was not connected. The person I bought it from, got it from a farmer that had it sitting in a garage for some years ( has a knobby rear tire). I guess he sold it to me b/c he is more into the Dreams. This one runs decent and is fairly clean (no rust) but I will rebuild the carbs and do a good tune up. I think I am going to go with the black/silver colors also.
