CB77 Horn question

Post by SMBH » Tue Mar 17, 2015 2:44 pm

Can one use the Honda CL 160 Elephant style horn on a 1964 CB77? you see I have to admit that I messed up my horn on my 1964 CB77.

It was not working so off with the cover and tried to clean the points then undid the screw to get to the points then could not put them back so more stripping down of the horn so in the end I was left with pile of bits and gave up, one gets like this when you reach my age, I know im a silly old sod and never learn.
What I intend to do is put a modern small horn inside the original horn case (I hear a loud intake of breath from you).

I would still like a Honda Horn that works you see they sound better, I see one for sale on Ebay but it is a CL160 looks like it would fit with my CB77 bracket is this so?.

Now were did I put that big hammer need to do more repairs.

Mike

They are pretty simple so if you want to send me the bits I might be able to help.

Well Graham (G-Man) that is very kind of you and you have been kind to help me out in the past and I do not wish to impose on you any more, you see im a little embarist when I say it's in bits I mean bit's.
I have sent off for two small horns hoping to put one in the original shell at the end of the day the only time I want a horn is for the MOT. Thank you for your kind offer.
