Thanks Gunner. Definately feeling the itch to get out. Supposed to snow this weekend, Bummer. Looking forward to Mid- Ohio as I did not make it last year.

this looks great.
I'm really excited for you.
I just barely tore my superhawk down for the second time (attempting to apply some of the skills and patience I've learned in the last few years to doing a proper restoration).

Best of luck.

Update

Post by Goodysnap » Thu May 20, 2010 6:47 pm

Well after 500 miles and all is well aside of a few minor issues. The power has increased remarkably in the last hundred miles or so. I thought it was good when I first rode it but the acceleration is becoming more swift with every ride.

Issues- On a long ride (over 75 miles continuous)the speedo gradually rose to be 10-20mph above normal reading based on RPM. I think a disassemble and lube is in order here as after a cooling cycle in returns to normal .Not a big deal.

I need to lower the crankcase breather tube below the swing arm as its spewing small amounts of crap all over the top of my prettied up motor. Seems to be discharging a small amount of oil during highway trips(8,000RPM continuous or 60 and above) Dont travel above that speed often anyway as its not as pleasant above 60.

Every once and again I feel the kickstarter hit my shin during a semi rapid decel. Again not a big concern as it returns to its normal resting position and has given no troubles other than that.

Best of all -- No shifting troubles, No clutch issues (yet)I skimped out and put the junk disks back in against ED's advice. However I plan to upgrade this coming winter.
No charging issues whatsoever. I sure would like to see some voltage #'s while driving and I'm considering adding a small LED Monitor just to make me feel better.

Every time I ride, it's like I'm just getting on it for the first time. Cant ask for any better than that EH. I get a kick out of the attention too. Take care everyone!!!!!!
