Gun,

Duly noted. Does Honda make these anymore? I just got a set of HM300's for my 1971 CB750. My parts guy said at the time (last Spring) they there were 35 sets in the warehouse. If they don't, who sells the best replica muffler and approximately how much are they?

Thanks, Phil

Phil, Tim sells them on his website, around $800 a pair. I haven't seen them, so i can't testify to the quality.

bars and mufflers

Post by jleewebb » Wed Jan 14, 2009 3:50 pm

I got my bars from retrobike and they look just like the old ones except shiny not rusty and only bent where they're supposed to be. Good question on mufflers, be interesting to see if anyone has a good answer. Thanks, Lee

Were the original mufflers and headers one piece or two pieces like the ones Tim sells?

I have also found a couple of CB160's which are actually pretty cool! We shall see!

Thanks, Phil

Early were two piece, late one piece.

davomoto,

Thanks! About what year was the break point? Is one style better (or less rust resistant) than the other?

Thanks, Phil

Not sure of the year, I'd guess around 66. I see no advantage to either, whatever you have, or can find in good condition is probably your best bet.
