Well I have been busy toiling away on my SH the past few days. After I did my steering head bearings I went to put my axle back in my front wheel and every time I put any torque on it, it locked the wheel up tight as a drum! After a process of elimination I discovered that the speedometer drive flange on the front wheel was too tall and it was causing the bearings to lock up. I am presuming that it is the wrong one, but for the time being I did get it to work by filing it down.
I also finally got the chance to put the OEM sidestand on that I got from Loud Mouse! I took off the mufflers for ease and just to see how the exhaust gets mounted. The left foot peg mount must be removed, and then everything makes sense! Below are a series of pics of the mounting spot and with the side stand bolted in place. The small extra hole is for a 6mm bolt that is in place now, after looking at the parts fiche. There is supposed to be a special longer centerstand mounting bolt on the left side, but until I find one, the original one is going to have to do. I also took this opportunity to mount my NOS centerstand!
Now on to the rear wheel and to figure out why the rear brake sucks so bad.
