Timing set, carbs dialed in, starts first kick and runs great. idles nicely at 1000 rpm. Some more cleaning and assembly (mufflers, shift linkage, etc) and it will be on the road for it's first ride in 43 yrs! After it's determined to be reliable I plan on taking it "back home" to it's original owner as I know he'll want to see it.

Two Red Hawks? You are a lucky man. Are either one of these fine machines going to be be at the Portland Swapmeet?

Hopefully when you come in the Expo gate at the lower parking lot this one will be there! I have to fit the left muffler tomorrow and lite it off again, been a while since it's ran. Both side covers and chainguard left to paint then the final assembly of the missing items. The countdown has begun!

That is oh so nice. you have given me incentive.
This is what I am starting with.
The French have an expression that translates to - "Beautiful from far, but far from beautiful."
I have to undo a few decades of cruelty.

(I really like the red ones.)

Looks like you are starting with something better than I did! You'll get there, just takes a little time.
