well, i've only seen 2 starters up in the last week, and nothing up right now, Guess i'll just keep an eye out for one. Or if anyone has an old one they'd be willing to sell, let me know, same applies to chain guard.

Still having difficulty landing a starter. I see one for sale for 50 something bucks plus shipping, and that seems a bit over priced. I was wondering if the Dreams used the same starter, and if I would be fine buying that.

Ordered some flat handlebars today :)

Ask the seller if it's been tested, and if not, can he test it. it's simple to do. Connct jumpers to 12 volt battery, ground to starter case, positive to bolt, and voila, it turns smoothly with a good kick, or it makes a lot of noise, or maybe doesn't turn!

going to try to snag that motor, and hope i don't loose to a last second bid as I did with the others.
The guy tested it as you outlined dave, and it worked smoothly according to him. Guess i'll have to pay to find out.

Do you kind folks know if a scrambler chain cover will fit a superhawk?
I'm having no luck tracking down a chain cover that's under 100 bucks. But old scrambler chain covers go for about 10 bucks and are plentiful.
Currently i'm more focused on the functionality over the aesthetics, and would not like chain grease flying all over the universe when i ride.
