I've been in the US for the past two weeks. Just got back home so 'fettling' will re-commence this weekend.

I have LM's head to get started on and I'm going to set up a small workshop area for building the engine.

Ahhhh!!! I can't wait to see more progress! That's going to be a beautiful bike.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Post by sarals » Thu Nov 27, 2014 11:12 am

I know this is an American holiday (specifically, the USA), but it is one in which we express gratitude to our friends and family for the year past and the holiday season through a gathering over a sumptuous meal. That makes it universal, in my view. You are all my friends, no matter your nationality - and I want to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

Sara

Thanks! But aren't you all giving thanks for escaping the clutches of us evil Brits? :-)

Have a great day and don't spend too much in tomorrow's shopping frenzy....

Evil Brits? No way, Graham!! I was told, by my father, that the family forebears, who came to this continent in the 1600's, were given a choice by the local authorities in the UK. A hanging tree or the boat to the new world. Apparently they were horse thieves! They chose wisely, the boat. Me, I've been to the UK, twice, and just loved it. I'd give thanks to be able to live there!

As for "Black Friday", OMG, no way I go anywhere near any retail establishment tomorrow!!

Thank you, Graham!

Because of a piece of bad planning with work, I am going to bring my wife to New York next month for a short break. I need to visit a client for about ½ hour and my wife gets to spend her birthday in the 'city that never sleeps'. Not a bad deal, I suppose. :-)

We may visit one or two "retail establishments" while we are there....

As for the 'boat' choice - those were seriously hardy people. After a cold, miserable, rat-infested voyage, they deserved their eternity in paradise.....

Sarah's cb77

Post by bikedoctor99 » Wed Dec 17, 2014 8:49 pm

Hello Sarah,
Haven't visited this forum for serveral months and am thrilled to see that your old girl is up to your expectations, but surprised to know that you're reluctant to ride very much. Now that I've said that I can appreciate the way you feel.

It was always exciting to read you thread and hear your determination to complete the various mini aspects of your build- with out doubt you are probably an inspiration to many!

Get the old girl back to where It belongs and enjoy It as only you can!- nothing wrong with sharing at a show or bike night in Pacific Grove, especially when the monarchs are in full attendance.
