eBay didn't help?  Be patient with that, because parts come and go all of the time.  You might see parts that look crappy, but are just dirty and can used after a cleaning with no issues.  Refinishing parts yourself isn't that difficult, either.
You should be able to find a shifter, clutch lever, and headlight on eBay today if you look.  The forks may not be bent, either - loosen the clamp bolts on the bottom triple clamp, put the front wheel between your legs and give the handlebars a tug - they're probably just twisted.
Yes, you can polish out the oil filter cover.  There are videos on YouTube that describe the whole process (they helped me a lot!).
