Hi Everyone:
I just read this in Bill Silver's Birds of a Feather article.
Honda made use of both Type 1 and Type 2 engines, right from the start, according to their own production figures posted in their parts manuals. Generally, if the second digit in the serial number is a 4, 5, 6 or 9, the engine configuration is a Type 2.
