If these engines don't start & require that sort of "kicking" something is wrong. Properly tuned they should start by hand.

Yessir i know.

Don't know if you read the post but The electric start was not wired up. Did a full top end rebuild and kicked it maybe 10 times and this happened. First time trying to start it since the rebuild and bore Job, I'm not stupid, I tuned the bike to EDs tuning standard and did an entire check. I had a bad coil in the end. Your comment is an obvious one.

Goddamn
Sorry to hear about your accident, knees are fragile things give it all the time it needs.
Had a scrambler dig in it's side stand in the dirt one time and fall over on the back of my right leg and it darn near crippled me.
I would have kicked that scrambler if I could have stood up!
You're not alone when it comes to weird accidents, hang tough bro.

A week in bed, about month on crutches and 2-3 months with a brace.
Typical of me in my younger days, I went to a Grateful Dead concert up in Santa Barbara the night after the injury and set my recovery back substantially.... thus my comment about giving it all the time it needs.
The real bummer about the whole deal was when I went in for my Army pre-induction physical about 6 months later WITH the brace on thinking I was sure to get out on a medical, I passed with flying colors!
All you needed in those days was a heart beat I guess, Viet Nasty was in full swing.
