Diamond in the rough time capsule

Post by JRT68 » Sat Feb 07, 2009 11:14 pm

I've really got to stop cruising Craigslist. After recently buying a running CB77, I bought a mess of parts being sold online (so as to have some spares, right?). Well there's two frames, an engine and enough stuff to put together at least one more bike, except for mufflers. So when I called about a Dream being offered on Craigslist and he mentioned a CB77 project bike too, the wheels started turning. I ended up with both of 'em (see Dream forum for full story). Here's some shots of the superhawk... kinda rusty, the chrome's a bit green, but I think there's some life in her yet.

Too bad the chrome is so pitted, it dosn't look bad other then that. I must have been stored under a plastic tarp. Sounds like you have a good supply of parts!

Looks like that chrome got it good. Sounds pretty expensive from that point of view. How does it run?

I haven't had a chance to mess with this one yet... the carbs need to be gone through but the oil in the crankcase looks fresh. If it runs out o.k. maybe I'll just keep it as is and ride it as a rat-bike.
