i got the taiwans. and the union cycle rims. look good for the price. spokes are chrome and the same size front and rear with no reduction in the center as the stocks do. out being trued now. i got too frustrated. for the price the quality seems real good though.

The spokes are acceptable, slightly different appearance from stock. However, the Union Cycle rims are drilled for a smaller spoke circle (CB160 ?), resulting in a mild bow in the spokes if the holes in the rim are not elongated. Regards, Chase

I've used the Taiwan spoke sets a couple of times. The spokes are OK if you want a cheap chrome unbutted spoke. The nipples are junk. The ones I tried rounded easily and flaked off chrome no matter how carefully they were torqued. I threw all the nipples away and just used cad plated steel ones.
IMO they're not worth the trouble when you figure in the fact that you're gonna have to wait up to 6 weeks + $25 freight from Taiwan. When I bought the last set I tried to get the seller to combine freight for a half dozen sets to make it worthwhile. The response was "for this item I can for little for price for combined ship for this item it for haevy". It's really hard to justify $150 for economy freight on a 5 pound package even from Taiwan.
