A Beautiful Super Hawk at the Portland Swapmeet

Post by Steverino » Wed Apr 15, 2015 7:01 pm

I saw a beautiful Super Hawk at the Portland Swapmeet last weekend. There were a lot of potatoes but I didn't see any of them getting as much attention as this old Honda. So many people were looking at it I had to wait to get a clear picture. I didn't get permission to say who the owner is, but we had a good visit and he gave me some good Super Hawk info. The bike was beautiful. Here is a pic.

The Portland Swapment is one of the largest automotive events out here and usually there are quite a few bikes of interest, but not this year. The only other one that I saw that I liked was a little yellow and white mini trail that was just like the very first motorcycle I ever rode back in the day.

It was Dick Johnson's and I think he sold it Saturday. It ran as nice as it looked!

Thanks for the compliments Steve and good to meet you! I'm sure yours will be even better when finished. It sure did draw lots of attention! So another one revived and sent to another owner. Another lead to pursue this comimg Sunday for a basket case Superhawk.

Somehow Bruce and I missed the buy of the meet on Wednesday as our friend Kevin bought a '61 Hawk on Thursday morning for $250!!!!!!!!

Love that rear sprocket! Must've been good for 45mph with that on it.. :-)

Do we know the numbers? Looks like it might have the original shocks on the back. Nice tank badge, too!

Shocks are originals, everything is correct other than missing fenders, the huge sprocket and knobby tires. Both badges are decent too.

It's beginning to look that way Paul! Think about it, got mine from Bert, you now have Ed's, Kevin has this one and Wes has his. That's 4! I wonder just what I'll be looking at on Sunday.................what are the chances.................................Hey I can dream can't I!!!!
