from searching here, it looks to be a 1964 and also says TYPE 1 on a round cover (sorry that I don't know what that cover is), so that jives with the serial number document circulating around this site. I didn't find a key for the serial numbers that explained the "E". Does that designate anything. I forgot to look for electric start. The bike has 15,000 miles. How is 15k on these bikes? High, low.. at what mileage do these engines start to wear out?
Just got a real nice 1975 XL250 running for my wife and I would love to pull the trigger on this for my next project (don't tell her though because she said I have to get rid of two(2) things before I can bring another one(1) thing in). Thanks, C.

Points cover. CB77 E-XXXXXX. "E" is for ENGINE. Miles are about par for the course. ..............................lm
I know I didn't supply much information but I don't have any pictures to share yet. I've never had a street bike but have been riding in the woods since I was 13 (53 now). I have a '74 Suzuki RL250 trials bike and as I said, a recent '75 XL250. I love vintage/classic stuff and stumbled upon the Superhawk described above. Since lurking around here, I realize this bike is in great condition. Minimal rust, just dirty. All there. White. One small seat rip. Tank very good inside but has some nasty gas in there. A really straight bike that looks like it's always been inside. Very similar to the XL I bought 2 years ago. I don't want to offend but also don't want to and really can't offer a load of money. I haven't approached the owner yet. This bike hasn't run in about 30 years. With this much information, what do you all think I should offer? I'm thinking $500. Thanks, C.
