OK; I need to clarify my previous post. the carb overflow should not drip. period. if you turn the petcock off, and still have some fuel on the floor, it may be the carb being over full from a float valve not working. then allowing fuel to drain out to a level below the overflow tube. this will stop pretty quickly as fuel level drops. if the overflow continues and does not stop, with the fuel valve off, then you have a leaking petcock.
