Kick Starter Removal

Post by AStasunas » Thu Jul 22, 2004 3:18 pm

I am starting to disassemble my gararge sale CL77 and am stumped about removal of the kick starter. I Have remove the pedal, but there remains a bracket on a shaft that goes through the right side cover plate. It looks like this has an internal sline the goes over an external spline shaft and it should pull off. If so it does not budge now, but before I put some force to it I want to be sure I am correct. Any guidance?

In case you did not get an answer, the kick starter and cover are removed as an assembly. The piece that splines onto the shaft is retained inside the cover by a snap ring. It just slides freely onto the splines of the kick starter shaft. <br />John
