Clutch Adjustment Procedure?

Post by Dr. Frankenstein » Sun Apr 07, 2019 1:59 pm

Does anybody have a step-by-step tutorial of adjusting the clutch? My manual is no help, as it says you "can adjust the clutch from three different points: the handlebar, the clutch adjustment nut and the big plastic screw-type thing on the side of the case.

I've tried following the instructions, but they don't really go into much detail about how to adjust the clutch properly.

The backstory is, I finally got one of my Dreams to run under her own power for the first time in God knows how long,. It will shift into First, but it won't shift into 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc... - any opinions?

Thanks Dan, that was awesome; I got a much better adjustment doing it the way Loud Mouse suggested.

That was on my '64 CA77. The '63 I'm working on does not have a big plastic screw/view port in the case, sooo…??

I'll give it a shot tomorrow, I was just wondering if you knew anything about clutch adjustment in the Early models...
