petcock removal!

Post by LTthisFire » Tue Feb 10, 2009 5:35 pm

Hey guys! I purchased a 3 part kit to clean my tank on my ca77. Drained all the bad rust gas out and the instructions say i have to remove the petcock. Heres where i stand, i read on here somewhere that there are 3 screws to take it off and im not seeing them? Am i on the right track and is there any tips you can give me so that i do not destroy the petcock taking it off? Thanks guys!

my screen seems pretty brittle, is there a good way to remove it without ruining it? Use some needle nose pliers?

ok got it off! took the petcock off of the tank and the underside is pretty wasted. The little valve thats on there is just mush, looks like im going to need to order a rebuild kit...

Glad you got it. I'd recommend an inline fuel filter when you put it back together.
