Early/Late Gas Tank Differences

Post by brewsky » Sun May 03, 2009 5:43 pm

Are the tanks interchangeable between early and late CA77 models?
TIA

in my limited knowledge the only difference is the pressence of a seam down the center of the tank.

The early seamless cap in the middle, does not look correct on later models. I put a seamless on my 66 305 and there was a big gap in front on the seat. The seam type with cap looks correct. The early tank also has the crossover connections in the front, later tanks are in rear Roger

I have an early tank if that's the one you are looking for. The late ones come up time to time as well. Paul

Paul,
Thanks for the offer. I have a '66 and hope to be able to re-furb the existing tank.
There was supposedly an early NOS tank on ebay recently, but it evaporated after some question about it's real application.
