Dream speedometer (again)
Yes... I used some 3 in 1 oil and now it turns BUT the speedo needle doesn't move at all. I've been had by an ebay seller once again. In the end all that matters is that I have a working speedometer on the bike. Thanks for your post.

Ron, Stuck Dream speedos can be freed up with a little work and patience.
I use a pair of very small ignition pliers to gently pry off the chrome bezel.
Take very small bites all the way around the bezel (this may take 3 or 4 times around) until
you can slip it off.
Soak the unit in penetrating oil for a day or two. Then keep working it until it looses up.
After it's freed up clean it out with Brakekleen. Then oil the unit with the lightest oil you can
possibly find. If you use too heavy a lubricant the needle will move faster than your actual
speed.
Before you replace the bezel seal the glass with silicone caulking.
Slip the bezel back on, turn the unit upside down on a semi hard surface.
Then take a punch and slowly bend (HAND PRESSURE ONLY NO HAMMER!) the bezel
a little at a time like you did when you removed it.

Ron, Your welcome.
Just wanted to add that removing the 2 screws on the bottom will allow you to take the speedo apart after you remove the bezel.
Also, apply a small amount of grease to the odometer gears and oil the odometer bushings.
