Again, good luck, George- happy riding!
Thanks for the suggestion, but Yup... been using a Craigslist search engine and am in current communication with two of the above. I have also thought about nation wide shipping, but I really want to look at it before I purchase. I'm getting closer to my Dream :-)

tnx agn for the suggestion.

George, some food for thought: - if it's all the same to you I'd recommend going with a '64 or later. I have a '63 'early' and the batteries are incredibly hard to come by. As I understand it , the '64 models and onward used a more common battery design (different in shape only) that are still being produced today using today's technology.
I wouldn't be too concerned about seeing the bike in person, as long as the seller is amenable to sending you pictures at your request.Even speaking as someone who knows almost nothing about motorcycles/mechanics, these bikes are fairly simple and parts are surprisingly easy to come by.
It seems that chain guards, side covers (esp battery side covers), carb covers, mufflers and headlights are the hardest parts to procure. Excepting mufflers NONE of the above are necessary if all you desire is a running bike, although side covers are advisable. Almost every Dream out there is missing the carb covers. If your state like mine has a 'headlights always on' law, then a working headlight will be a must to pass inspection. These sealed beam headlights are rare and expensive; I'm going to have to jury-rig mine in order to pass inspection.
'63 CA77 - Giving me all kinds of headaches.
'64 CA77 - Patiently waiting it's turn
'65 CB77 - A 'great winter project'

From what I have read, I believe use of the CB style battery was started in '66.

Thanks for your suggestions on a purchase. I am looking for one that is complete and preferably in a 9 out of 10 condition. I will do minor repairs, but I don't want to get into another "Work in Progress".... done that too many times.

tnx agn

George
