My Dream lives again

Post by bh325es » Mon Dec 06, 2010 12:38 am

I've only posted a few times and thanks to the help of you guys I wanted to share this with you. This bike was under a tarp in my grandfathers shed for the past 30 years and with your help I managed to get her running again. I rebuilt the petcock valve, replaced spark plugs and here is the result. Fired right up no problem. Have a look for yourself. Thanks again.

I got a better quality video to share this time. I was going to try to ride it tonight but when I tried to put it in gear it stalled out. I'm thinking I need to adjust the clutch. If anyone has any advice on doing this it would be appreciated.

The clutch plates are probably stuck together, which is common from sitting long term.

Make sure you remove all the slack from the clutch cable.

With the bike in gear, not running, pull the clutch in and try to rock it back and forth to see if it will break free.

If not, you probably have to remove and clean the plates.
