Happy holidays! Perhaps in south Florida, things were a bit "different" in the 60's, but most of the "dropped while stationary" CB muffler damage that I observed occurred to the right side items. Typically, while standing on the left side of the bike to put it on its centerstand, if the bike leaned away from you a bit, there was little leverage available to pull it back toward you. Therefore, the right side would make impact with the ground about two seconds after you realized you were in trouble, with the muffler making first contact. Front brake levers and front fenders also were liable to be scarred in these incidents. Not that I ever had this happen to me..... Regards, Chase
