Welcome, neighbor!
Where are you in WV?

Changing oil is an adventure in itself.

The filter is centrifugal, located behind the small round cover on the left side cover. Remove and dis-assemble and clean out. There is also a strainer in the oil pump, located in the bottom of the engine.

If you do a search on this site, you can find some pics and more info....make sure the washer on the filter shaft goes back in the right place, see here:

Yeah, I'd like to know where in WV you are also.

The windshield was a pretty popular add on for these bikes.

Post by kyleboy1993 » Mon Apr 11, 2011 5:05 pm

my bike has a wind shield but it is busted which is why i was wondering if it was originall. I am just starting work on it this year when it was parked in the building last year it was running. and i was wrong on the year i am pretty sure its a '66 now because the motor says ca77e i am 17 so this bike just became mine and the thoughts of working on and ridding this beautiful bike are driving me to spend every moment of daylight working on it. i have no motorcycle experience so i will be returning to this forum for all my problems and i would appriciate it if you guys would advise me. possibly emails ???

Post your vin # and some pics and someone can help you with the year (possibly)
Don't be afraid to ask questions.
Do you have your M/C license yet?
