Post by Jethro » Sun May 15, 2011 2:18 pm

Hi, just curious about what the best source is for a left side cover gasket?

Thanks, Jethro

Hi,
I bought some sheets of gasket paper off ebay, along with some cheap hole punches, and then made my own, matching up to the side cover and old gasket. When fitted, no leaks no problems. Can now make as required.
Regards

Peter

Got one from Ohio Cycle recently. Good quality item.

Is this the part number? 11395-259-000 If so, is it really $19 from Ohio Cycle?. If it is then I could see why you'd be better off going with a home made gasket. Especially with the regular removal of that side. Good idea Peter!

Thanks, Jethro

This one sounds a bit more reasonable, although I have to agree - making your own is much more satisfying!

Check with your local Honda dealer to see if he has an NC gasket cutting machine. If he has the CA/CB/CL program, he can cut them out of modern gasket material (of the correct thickness). My local dealer offers this at a reasonable cost. Regards, Chase
