Okay, so after exhaustive research, I have finally gotten a definitive make and size of tire for my CA77 - -
Apparently, the Kenda Cruiser K671, size 100/90-16, is a good choice and a great price for the tires; one reviewer actually stated they put them on a 1966 Honda Dream and they are doing great!
According to my research, MH or MJ90/90-16 will also work; the 100/90-16 measures anywhere from 3.25" to 3.50", so it's a little bigger than the 90/90-16, which measure 2.75 - 3.00"
I'm liking the bit bigger ones, myself...
Now I just need to find a rim, a 36-hole, 16" rim - and after all this time I am rather enjoying searching for the cheapest one I can find, and I DO have some leads...but can you put tubeless tires on these bikes?? I don't know how you could and still have the brake hubs in there to maintain the look of the wheel...
But what is everybody using for rims...?? Anything between $50 - $100, or the "D-I-D Ultra-Expensive, $100-plus Per Rim" rims, or....??
Moped rims appear promising, too....

I bought the kenda's and I love the looks of them. I haven't been able to ride with them yet because the rebuild isn't quite finished. I bought some portawalls to go on them and I found out the hard way that the 1.75 " portawalls are too big so now I have some 1 5/8" portawalls coming. But I do have to say, the whitewalls on these tires, LOOK AWESOME!!! I can not wait for my bike to be finished. It's going to be a great summer!!!! I have the summer off and a new to me bike to cruise around on. = )
