Am I missing a part??

Post by Kigsby » Fri Oct 28, 2011 7:41 am

I noticed this last night.....This is on the left side of the front wheel. I tried to look for this part in the parts manual, but couldn't find one that looked like it. It's got a big hole going through it and it looks like something must be missing. Is there supposed to be a pin or bolt or something going through that hole?? Also, my tail light isn't working. The manual says it's a dual filament - 8W for stop and 4W for tail light. Can I get a replacement bulb at an AutoZone, Home Depot or any other retail store or does this have to be ordered special?

axle hole

it's to stick a phillips screwdriver or other appropriate sized rod through to hold the axle while you loosen/tighten nut on other side...

Yeah, that is the head end of the axle bolt. As for lights just take the old into one of those auto parts places. They should be able to x-reference it for a new one.

Sylvania 1157 (27/6.7) from Autozone.

The original tail light bulb I pulled out of my '66 was a Stanley 1034 that had a 32/4 stamped on the base. Honda still sells that part number (34906-268-810) as a 23/7 watt. The Sylvania bulbs work fine and you get two for cheap.

Thank you!! I got nervous when I saw that! I was afraid to ride it thinking the wheel might fall off. Thanks also for the bulb info. This forum is going to make restoring the bike so much easier. You know your stuff!!
